Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Flash ("Flash", "we", "our", "us"), a product by DRS Studios, collects, uses and protects information when you use the Flash desktop application ("Flash" or the "App").
1. What Flash Does
Flash is a desktop AI assistant. You can talk to it by voice or text, ask it to read files on your computer, generate documents/spreadsheets, open apps or websites, and — using the "Screen Vision" feature — allow Flash to analyze information currently displayed on your screen.
2. Information We Process
To do the above, Flash processes the following, only when you actively use a feature:
- Voice input. When you speak to Flash, your audio is sent to a speech-to-text service to convert it into text. Flash does not intentionally retain voice recordings after transcription, unless required for a specific feature, troubleshooting process, or where otherwise disclosed.
- Your messages/queries. Text you type or speak is sent to our AI service provider to generate a response.
- Screenshots (Screen Vision). If you ask Flash about your screen (e.g. "what's this error on screen?"), Flash captures a screenshot of your screen at that moment and sends it, along with your question, to our AI service provider to generate an answer. Screenshots are only captured when you explicitly trigger this feature — Flash does not capture your screen in the background.
- File contents. If you ask Flash to read, summarize, or work with a file (CSV, PDF, document, etc.), the relevant file content is read locally and may be sent to our AI service provider to fulfil your request.
- Account information. If you use a Flash account (for the business product), we store basic account details (e.g. email, profession, usage/credit counts) to operate the service and enforce usage limits.
3. How We Use This Information
Information described above is used solely to process your requests and provide Flash's features — for example, generating a spoken or written reply, creating a file you asked for, or answering a question about your screen. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your screenshots, files, or conversations to build user profiles for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
To function, Flash relies on the following types of third-party services, which process data as described:
- AI processing services — process your text/voice queries, screenshots, and file content to generate responses.
- Speech-to-text and text-to-speech services — used to convert your voice to text and Flash's replies back to voice.
These providers process data per their own terms and privacy policies, and Flash sends only what's needed to fulfil your specific request.
5. Your Control Over Screen & File Access
Flash only accesses your screen or files when you ask it to as part of a conversation. You can close or restart the app at any time, and no background monitoring of your screen, files, or activity takes place.
6. Data Retention
Conversation history may be stored locally on your device (and, for business accounts, on our servers) so Flash can maintain context and you can review past chats. You can clear your chat history from within the app. We retain account/usage data for as long as your account is active, or as required for legitimate business or legal purposes.
7. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect account and usage data, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Flash is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Flash after changes means you accept the updated policy.
